hi friends!

i'm taking a short break and working on another fun piece! i know i should probably be patient and wait until it's finished, but i was too excited and wanted to go ahead and post - so, here's part of the work in progress.

woooooo second book is done! XD i need to go back and adjust some stuff (like the wheels probably) but......ready to start book #3

oh man - the mural was fun, but i definitely lost some of my working with photoshop momentum. sorry this is so late, everyone, i seem to have gotten slower again. the kids are now blonde (request of the author). i'm not sure how i feel about the second image :( but i really need to make progress on the other layouts, so....here are layouts 1 and 2 for now.

well, i had a friend in town visiting so work was a little slower this week. but here is a possible first layout for the next book - i'm just waiting on the author's approval before i proceed. finish the mural tomorrow! (hopefully)

good morning/afternoon/evening wherever you are in the world. so i've made a lot of progress on the superhero piece :D i am now quite confident i can finish before i leave forever to go back to china, and i am feeling much friendlier towards watercolors. unfortunately i was too busy painting (and going to my friend's house to play wii sports XD) to scan any of the recent happenings, so i'm gonna have to tide you over with some old pastel drawings (sorry if you've seen these before, but i need to post something - my blog is looking sad and lonely).


random fact of the day: the sea serpent and this portrait were drawn only using blue, orange (and occasionally white) pastels. i think. if i remember correctly. well, i'm going out of town this weekend so i'll be out of commission a few days. ttyl!
